Customer Reviews
Good parts, quick shipping
I ordered a Game Boy Advance IPS Screen Upgrade. It arrived fast, well-packaged. Installation was straightforward with the guides they have online. The screen looks much better now. No issues with the order or product.
Got a new shell, looks great
I got one of the UV Printed Shells for my Game Boy Color. It came faster than I thought it would, arrived two days earlier than the tracking said. The print quality is really good, and it feels sturdy, not cheap at all. Swapping it out was pretty easy with a basic screwdriver set. My old GBC looks brand new now, I'm super happy with it.
Really happy with my custom GBA
So I finally bit the bullet and got a Custom Built-to-order Game Boy Advance. I picked out the shell, buttons, everything. It came in about two weeks, which felt pretty quick for something custom. It looks amazing, just how I pictured it. Played some games on it already and it's perfect. Totally worth it, I'm glad I went with them.
Another solid order from Retro Modding
This is my third or fourth time ordering from Retro Modding, and they've been consistently reliable. This time I got a Game Boy Color IPS LCD Kit and some Custom Buttons. The quality was just as good as my previous orders, which included a Rechargeable Battery Mod last year. Shipping was also pretty quick, same as before. It's why I keep coming back for my modding parts; I know what to expect.
CleanJuice USB-C Battery Pack review
I bought the CleanJuice USB-C Battery Pack for my Game Boy Advance. Ordering was straightforward on their site; I found what I needed quickly. Shipping took about a week, which was fine. The pack itself was easy to install using their guide, and it's been working perfectly. No more dealing with AA batteries, which is a huge plus. The battery life is solid, and charging with USB-C is so convenient. They really make good stuff for modding classic consoles. I also grabbed a Tri-wing Screwdriver which was essential for the job, and it held up well.
Great price on parts
I was looking to fix up an old Game Boy Color and needed some parts. I compared prices for a Game Boy Color Shell and some Silicone Pads on a few different sites. Retro Modding had the best overall price, especially after finding a small discount. The parts arrived quickly and were exactly what I needed. It felt like a really good deal for upgrading my console without spending too much.
Mostly good, minor shipping delay
I bought a CleanJuice USB-C Battery Pack and a pair of Tri-wing Screwdrivers. The products themselves are excellent quality, exactly what I needed for my Game Boy Advance mod. The battery pack works great, and the screwdrivers felt sturdy. My only small complaint was that shipping took a day or two longer than the initial estimate, but it wasn't a huge deal. Everything arrived safely in the end. Good value for the money, just plan for potential slight delays.
Awesome custom Game Boy Color!
I finally got my Custom Game Boy Color and it is incredible! The screen is so vibrant, and the custom shell looks fantastic. I seriously love it! It came packaged really well too. I'm already thinking about what parts I want for my next project. Definitely recommending this place to all my friends who are into retro gaming. They did a fantastic job!
Good parts, slow shipping
I ordered a Game Boy Advance IPS Screen Upgrade and some new Custom Buttons. The parts themselves seem high quality, really made my old GBA pop. Installation guides were helpful too. My only real complaint was how long shipping took, it was a bit slower than I expected. Customer service was responsive when I inquired though.

Anyone know if they actually have a warranty on their custom consoles? Worried about dropping a lot of cash and then it breaks a month later.
Do these guys ever do free shipping codes? Or is it always paid shipping?
Are their custom consoles totally new parts, or are they refurbished old Game Boys?
Does Retro Modding do free shipping ever? Or is that just a Black Friday thing?
Are the shells on this site genuine Nintendo or are they repros? Some places sell some really flimsy ones.
